Microcredit VideoVoices
In 2009, the VideoVoice Collective joined kiva.org to put video cameras in the hands of microcredit entrepreneurs. We joined Kiva's partner TLM in West Timor, Indonesia, training their staff to capture the stories of entrepreneurship and the impact of microcredit on poor families in this far Eastern outpost of Indonesia. Our videos profile families who have received microcredit loans, as little as $25, to grow their small businesses. Together, we explore the joys and challenges of building a small business, from handcrafted tempe to seaweed cultivation.
